We are providing early childhood education (nursery school) to some of the children in our community. These children are between two and six years old. Children from less privileged households are not enrolled at any nursery school and therefore they have a disadvantage when starting primary school.
The basics of education are taught in nursery schools, so we believe that it is important for every child to be able to go to a nursery school. We also make sure that the children eat something (porridge) every day when they attend school. This is so because in Malawi there are a lot of vulnerable children who are living in extreme poverty and struggle to find enough food, so we are trying to fight malnutrition. Moreover, it is recommended for children to eat so that they can concentrate well during lessons.
supportive environment
Learn. Play. Grow.
At the nursery school we give the children (from two to six years) a platform to learn and we try to prepare the children for primary school.
early start:
For Tiny Minds
The children learn the alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors, and many more, including singing and dancing. The children come there every day from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and are provided with one meal (porridge).
